Pythagorean Library

On Pythagoras, the Pythagorean phenomenon and the Magna Graecia have been written over thousands of years up to our own time, thousands of books and articles. Sometimes theses and contents are in contrast with each other. Therefore, the New Pythagorean School has among its objectives to make its own synthesis and a new interpretation of historical events in the light of Pythagorean ethics. The aim is to make those teachings clear and useful to ensure everyone a happy life and a peaceful world.

The sources on Pythagoras start above all from the three lives that have come down to us: those of Porphyry, Iamblichus and Diogenes Laërtius that, even if posthumously, are the closest to the years in which the first philosopher lived. Unfortunately, over the centuries many books and about twenty lives written on Pythagoras have been lost, like the one written by Aristotle. However, the fact remains that even today, 2500 years later, a multitude of publications on Pythagoreanism continues to appear.

The New Pythagorean School has recently completed a booklet on the life of Pythagoras and the Italic-Pythagorean phenomenon, which touches fundamental points to stimulate the reader to personal research and reflection. This booklet, completed in December 2018, is now being printed for a first free circulation in all the schools of the city of Crotone. Its title is:
Pythagoras - The story of a child that became immortal
